Design Manager

Fawkes & Reece are proud to be partnering with a leading main contractor in the search for an experienced Design Manager to join the team on a landmark residential development in London.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering large-scale residential and regeneration projects, working on a flagship scheme that combines significant structural complexity with premium residential accommodation.

The development forms part of a major regeneration programme and will be a standout project, offering exposure to complex substructure works, infrastructure interfaces and high-rise construction.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the design process throughout delivery, coordinating consultants, subcontractors and project teams to ensure design information is fully coordinated, compliant and buildable.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the design process throughout project delivery.
• Coordinating architects, engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Reviewing and managing technical design information.
• Leading design coordination meetings.
• Resolving technical and buildability challenges.
• Managing design programmes and consultant deliverables.
• Supporting project teams throughout construction.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and project requirements.

About You

• Previous experience as a Design Manager within high-rise residential projects
• Experience delivering high-rise residential developments.
• Strong technical and design coordination skills.
• Ability to manage consultant teams and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced project environment.

Working Arrangement

The role will initially involve a combination of office and home working during the pre-construction phase.

Once the project progresses into the main delivery stage, the successful candidate will be expected to be site-based, working closely with the construction and project teams.
